The campaign features a character named Jack Potts, an “ambulance chaser,” in a series of TV ads and social media content designed to poke fun at the stereotype while emphasizing the firm’s dedication to ethical and compassionate legal practice.
“I came up with the Jack Potts character idea four years ago” said Matt Hardin, founder of Matt Hardin Law. “I’m excited for the campaign to finally be brought to life, and to poke fun at the ambulance chaser reputation and set ourselves apart.” The campaign features Jack Potts in various scenarios highlighting the absurdity of the ambulance chaser stereotype, including him focusing more on playing tennis than his clients, and settling cases at the first offer. Shot in a style that’s reminiscent of “The Office,” each video takes a humorous look into the life of an “Ambulance Chaser.”
William Mayfield, attorney and partner at Matt Hardin Law, elaborated on the importance of the campaign. “While we love having fun with the Jack Potts character, he was created for an important purpose: to show that ‘ambulance chasing’ isn’t what personal injury law is truly about.”
“It’s against attorney ethical rules to solicit you within 30 days of your accident, and often contact information is illegally obtained through crash reports,” Mayfield explained. “That means people who may actually be ‘ambulance chasing’ are not acting legally or ethically.”
